What’s New...
Norwalk Hospital has introduced its new Integrative Medicine Department which I am proud to be part of. They will be providing Massage, Reiki, Reflexology & Acupuncture upon their patient’s requests hospital-wide. It is a great historical moment for these Complementary Healing Modalities to be accepted in a hospital setting!
Buyer Beware!
Since Reflexology is not a modality that is regulated by any licensing bureau in the state of Connecticut it is basically, “buyer beware”. To be assured that you are receiving Reflexology from a qualified practitioner and that the session that is called “reflexology” is indeed from the true discipline and modality of Reflexology, ask the practitioner where they received their certification. from. Ask if they are Board Certified, look for them on their State Association’s website, the American Reflexology Certification Board’s website and the Reflexology Association of America’s website.
Reflexology need not be painful, be aware that it is a modality that is meant to help with any stress related disorder by having the client enter a state of relaxation, not grimacing and enduring a session of pain.
